Nice! I wonder what if instead of using two pots and a metal covering you would use a single ceramic pot full of rocks all over the pump. It would be easier to build and theoretically it would work as well, wouldn’t it?

Great Video, have the parts, just dont understand where the water goes, so am guessing you are somehow recycling/reusing the water in the JAR ???? Would appreciate how it works please. for a little grey haired lady, who is just guessing here 🙂

Could you use a terra cotta or plastic draining plate with exsisting hole?

  18. viluong sam on March 14, 2019 at 8:42 pm

Great video. Love your fountain however you scare me when I see you cutting the sheet of galvanize without wearing any gloves. Now my wife wants one for our backyard too.

How did you run the power for this? I want to install a fountain in my yard and the outlet is not close by (the pump power cord is small)

  24. JoesDogsa WebSlinger on March 14, 2019 at 8:49 pm

Wear gloves if you arent experienced with sheet metal. Its extremely sharp.

  25. Miss HG on March 14, 2019 at 8:52 pm

    What size is the tubing?

  26. Mark Armenta on March 14, 2019 at 8:54 pm

That was cool! Not a big deal to change water whenever you have to or change location, etc. Very good.

  27. Hassan Paywandi on March 14, 2019 at 8:56 pm

Thanks for your reply. Dose the water need to be changed from time to time or just required top up??

  28. rick66649 on March 14, 2019 at 8:56 pm

take the plug off the end of the pump ..feed it though the hole..better then making that hole bigger in the pot ..just wire plug back on ..

  33. Tiffany G on March 14, 2019 at 9:02 pm

Attempted to make my fountain yesterday, however the sheet metal is NOT as easy to work with as it looked. This video is still very helpful to give you the concept of what you are doing. Thank you

  34. Doris Crumpton on March 14, 2019 at 9:06 pm

u could use a small round grill rack and put black cloth over it with hole in center of cloth then pull tubing through it under the rack then rocks over cloth to keep rocks from falling through

  35. lisalisa8221 on March 14, 2019 at 9:06 pm

Where do you get the tubing to connect to the foutain? I have the same foutain and for 2 years i have looking for the exact tube size to fit in it! I tried using the fish tank tubing in the pet section of walmart, nothing fits right!

How long does the water last in that 5 gallon bucket before you have to fill it?

  37. Bubbly Waters on March 14, 2019 at 9:07 pm

  39. jaykyu1 on March 14, 2019 at 9:08 pm

I like the "funnel" water return catcher. Maybe also a good spot to put a strainer to stop larger matter getting in the reservoir. Thanks!
