Keeping a Garden Journal: Jamie Ridler Studios

Recently I discovered a wonderful way to combine two of my creative joys – gardening and journaling! I hope it inspires you to create a garden journal too (and, if you don’t have one yet, a garden!)

I love this idea.  We have a whole bunch of things that grow wild or were planted here before we moved and we’ve changed so much already.  There’s this tiny little corner garden by the deck that is mine to do with what I will.  Last year I did a Halloween scheme with orange marigolds and black petunias.  This year I’m doing yellow and orange cosmos with dark blue bachelor’s buttons.

Great ideas. FYI – Virginia bluebells vanish completely after they bloom. They’re just dormant but if you forget where they are and disturb the roots, you can kill them.

I loved looking through your garden journal with you, thank you for sharing it! I am a newbie gardener, and I am confined to pots at the moment – but I just planted some wildflower seeds last week and I am peeking every day to see if they are poking up through the earth yet!
